What is it?

Semaglutide and tirzepatide are both human glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists used in diabetes management to control blood glucose levels. The side effects of the medications can include appetite suppression and weight loss. Hence, they can be used off-label for weight loss. They are a once weekly injection that are started at a low dose and titrated upward to achieve desired effects. The dose can be increased monthly.

The amount of time needed on the medication is fully dependent on individual weight, goal weight, response to medication dosing, and side effects experienced. If semaglutide/tirzepatide are stopped suddenly, rebound appetite stimulation. Reports of weight gain upon stopping the medication have been reported. This is why adherence to diet and exercise after stopping the medication is important.

It is incredibly important to be medically monitored while you are taking these medications, especially in the initial phase. Although semaglutide and tirzepatide are highly effective, they come with side effects that should not be minimized. HD Aesthetic Wellness provides medication along with direct access to a medical provider to monitor side effects, evaluate blood work, and guide you through this process.
