Platelet Rich Plasma is blood plasma that contains a concentrated source of platelets. It is obtained by drawing the patient’s own blood and spinning it down to separate the different components of blood. The PRP section contains stem cells that are concentrated, which can stimulate collagen production, hair growth, and tissue repair when injected or microneedled into the skin. This is often used for stimulation of facial collagen or for medical hair loss. More typically used with microneedling, PRP can also be injected to act as a natural filler. For face/neck treatments, 3-4 treatments 4-6 weeks apart are recommended initially, then 1 treatment every 6 months for maintenance. For medical hair loss, 3-4 treatments 4-6 weeks apart are recommended initially, then 1 treatment every 3-6 months for maintenance. Plans can be tailored per patient response.
